Enterprise Hotel Management Network
A complete enterprise-grade network infrastructure built from the ground up for a hotel environment, applying CCNA and CCNP Enterprise concepts including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, WLC, VoIP, and full security hardening.
Project Overview
As part of my networking journey, I am designing and implementing a complete Enterprise Hotel Management Network that simulates a real production environment. The project covers the entire lifecycle from initial design through implementation, security hardening, and documentation. The network supports all hotel departments including Reception, Management, Finance, IT, Guest Rooms, Staff Offices, CCTV & Security, VoIP, Guest Wi-Fi, Staff Wi-Fi, a Data Center, Internet connectivity, Branch Office connectivity, and Cloud Integration. The implementation uses both Two-Tier and Three-Tier campus architectures with full redundancy, High Availability (HSRP/VRRP), and enterprise security (AAA, ACLs, VPN). The project is being built in Cisco Packet Tracer and EVE-NG, with full documentation and automation scripts.
Key Metrics
Tech Stack
Key Features
Multi-Department VLANs
Segmented network for Reception, Finance, IT, Guest Rooms, CCTV, and VoIP with inter-VLAN routing and 802.1Q trunking.
Enterprise Routing
Multi-Area OSPF, BGP for WAN connectivity, route summarization, and IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack support.
High Availability
HSRP/VRRP for gateway redundancy, EtherChannel (LACP), Spanning Tree (RSTP), and redundant uplinks throughout.
Wireless & VoIP
Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) managing Guest and Staff Wi-Fi, plus IP Telephony (VoIP) across all hotel zones.
Enterprise Security
AAA with RADIUS/TACACS+, ACLs, GRE/IPsec VPN, Layer 2 security, and infrastructure hardening.
Automation
Python scripting, Ansible playbooks, NETCONF/RESTCONF, and REST APIs for configuration automation.
Challenges & Solutions
⚡ Challenges
- •Designing a scalable three-tier architecture that supports 14+ departments with strict traffic segmentation
- •Implementing seamless failover across redundant links without disrupting hotel operations
- •Integrating VoIP and WLC into the enterprise fabric while maintaining QoS and security
✓ Solutions
- ✓Adopted a modular VLAN design with dedicated uplinks and EtherChannel bundles between distribution and access layers
- ✓Configured HSRP active/standby pairs on all Layer 3 distribution switches with optimized timers
- ✓Deployed a centralized WLC architecture with separate SSIDs, QoS policies, and guest network isolation
